How long since my last post?!

I have been AWOL for a while, had ideas running through my head about all the goodies to make for Christmas but that seems to have stopped all progression in the actually making things - go figure!

This week i received my completed Me to you cross stitch, from good old eBay. I did order a kit with all intentions to do the cross stitch myself but it came, i looked at it and - lets say it wasn't going to happen. If I'm good may get if finished in time for next year, forgot to check the size its massive!

So my completed tatty teddy arrived and i have spent all day playing with paper and ribbons and bits and bobs, after two failed attempts this is the final effort for my Cousins Christmas card. She is very special to me and me to you obsessed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope she likes it.

Last Nights Creation

This is a card for my step-father for Christmas. I have been trying and restarting over and over again as every attempt so far i didn't like the end result. But this card i really like.

I Cut a large square in the front of the card, after covering the card with my chosen, freebie paper!

I used a hole punch to add a hole in the centre of the remaining top section for my snowflake to hang and swing in the hole. The snowflake I LOVE is a present topper from Tesco's sale last Jan, however i changed the grey ribbon for a lovely Blue to match my paper.

It looked a little odd with the white background being clearly seen and didn't allow the snowflake to stand out so i layed some thin blue card inside to make the card complete.

I then decided to add a Christmas wishes sticker ribbon to the top of the card, with matching brads and the bottom right hand corner. I think i Will be making more of these cards in diff colours as very pleased with outcome.

Couldn't sleep last night so was up late tinkering! Very tired now so the below may not make sense.

Still using old cards that I'm recycling i cut out the shape of the shoes, ankles and bows i had to mount them on card to get a level bottom - not my original plan but a card that wont stand is not a great outcome, lol!

I have added a few diamante embellishments to the front to jazz up the shoes and added a peel of 'Glamour' sticker at the top.

Inside i have added an inlay using Matching pink mulberry paper to tie in the pink in the shoes and background to try make it a bit special.

My mum has seen it and loves it but as the card was originally a birthday card to her that i have reused cant give it to her again - can i? lol.

I'm not sure about this card yet! It worked out better in my head. The ladies in the card were all cut out from a pop up birthday card my mother received. I have placed them on the card in the sequence from being in the bath to drying to painting toe nails with before getting dressed. I had to add the birthday peel off at a funny angle so as didn't have space for it on the front and wanted it neatly tucked away without stray letters showing when the card is closed. I went back to the card after a few days and added the sticker ribbon and sparkler. I just feel it needs something extra to give it umph?

These cards are also recycled Christmas cards from last year.

The Gold Christmas tree is a glitter-tastic tree, i cut around all the edges intricately as i could with my craft knife. I attached the tree to some cream embossed Christmas themed paper that was included in a paper pack i bought in Wilkinson's when i first started card making. The Sticker Ribbon was again from the dovecraft kit to bring in some colour as the card was looking a little blah without it.

The next was made with free papers, the ribbon and the pegs are from a card hanging set that i use to display the cards at Christmas. The squares that the pegs hold where made from free children's stickers that i pinched from my daughter's magazine freebie, they where stuck to some holographic paper i had left over and all cut to the same size. The Merry Christmas is a peel off sentiment.

The Third card is a traditional card for family friends. The snowman is cut from an old Christmas card, layered a few times with foam pads on co-ordinating coloured cards. I again used gold coloured embossed paper from my Wilkinson's pack. The tag was also cut from an old Christmas card with added gold bobble thread the last touch was the gold bow to fill the remaining space.

The fourth card was a quick make the Front door and trees were cut from an old card, i have used foam pads to attach the tree tops and planters onto brown ribbon to reform the trees. The Paper is from my dovecraft kit. The Christmas Wishes tag at the top was from a magazine freebie.

The last card is again for a family friend that likes things traditional. The main picture is again a trimmed old Christmas card, that paper backing was left over from the last card. The Gold Oblong has Merry Christmas embossed onto it, found in the lucky dip bag from the car boot. I have gone back to the card to add the Green ribbon top and bottom as the card looked a little bare without it.

My daughter likes this card as it jingles. The 'Noel' was cut out from an old christmas card recieved last year. I had free card blanks with a magazine so used a Gold blank for this make. I added that gold pattered paper from my leftover stash to add a bit of sparkle as the card looked as if it needed something extra. I attached the 'Noel' on foam pads so it stands proud. The last thing is the bell attached to the bow that i had in a lucky dip bag of crd making goodies that my boyfriend spotted and got for me at a recent car boot sale.

This card is a made using a small section of an old Christmas card we received last year. I cut the small STAR section from the recycled card and attached it to a left over piece of blue card folded into a card blank. I have added a blue sparkly into the middle of the Star to tie in the blue and had a 'Christmas Wishes' transfer in a matching silver and blue in my Dovecraft kit. While making the card my boyfriend said that i was his favorite and that he wanted it to be his, so i have added peel off stickers to the side that read 'to the one i love'.

I am in dyer need of new goodies to make new lovely things! I a bid not to feel guilty i have been using up and recycling the old cards, tags and leftover bits and bobs i found in my clear out so that my boyfriend cant moan at any new stash because i will need it!!.

This card was made with free paper in one of the many mags i bought for Christmas inspiration. The mini trees are decorated in glitter and also where a freebie. The Santa on his sleigh was a left over tag from a present last year, i added new ribbon. The tag with the happy Christmas message for my son came in the Dovecraft Christmas Kit i had to have in my last visit to the Range.
