My Aunts Birthday Book

**IMAGE HEAVY**

I have finally finished the Birthday Book for my Aunt. It has taken ages due to being ill and lack of mojo.

I am pleased with the end project just wish i had longer to fiddle fart about getting it perfect, but i have to send it off soon.

Then again are we ever 100% happy with what we make or do we always tweak?

I Didn't want it to be to girlie as that's not Amanda. Her fave colour is Green so guess what colour the theme of the book is??

I used lace for the first time, LOVE IT!. The book has a few interactive pages as i didn't want it to be boring. I know a Mini Album is usually to show off pictures but this holds Birthday messages and quotes as my aunt is like me and hates the camera!

The cover has a glass pebble with a green flower in the centre hanging on a small chain as i couldn't find any charms that i liked.

I bodged this page, being tired. The envelope holds a little card where i am going to write a personal message from us.

This is a acetate page, the frame is duplicated on both sides ans the sticker of the stacked pressies looks just as good from the back. Had to add some sparkles to the top of the page. Behind this is a page of angle hair, just because i could and for some texture.

Above is the first interactive page, the present opens up and holds birthday sentiments.

The pocket holds three tags that have Birthday rub on quotes.

This is the second interactive page. I found this tutorial on you tube (think the ladies name is pinkaboo6691 - check her out fab!!) love how the little square opens up, it holds another birthday quote.

This Page was again inspiration from the same lady on you tube. The pocket is 2 long envelopes and they fold to make this interactive page that has hidden pockets for tags. I have 3 pockets and the tags read Birthday messages.

A velum pocket that holds 3 tags again with Birthday quotes. Following this is a velum page with scroll patterns.

Not so sure about this page, i ran out of steam!

My Fave page!!

The back of the album then holds a luggage tag that i am going to stamp or write that month and year the album was given.

The papers, ribbons, bows, buttons, flowers, gems are all part of the papermania capsule collection (love them!). The frames, lace, rub on's, glass pebble, alphamania stickers and tags are all from hobby craft. Everything else was from my huge stash.

She has a love of all things handmade, so hope she likes it.

Few, my longest post im sure! Time for a cuppa

I had a little time yesterday for some crafting. My aim was to try again at stamping, it just didn't work when i last tried but things improved this time round. I still need practise with my pro markers - the final effect was like i had let my 3yr old colour the image in, so i changed tactics and opened the heat tool and embossing powders i picked up at the car boot sale recently. I was shocked to find they were sealed and never used!

I LOVE THIS EFFECT!!!!!

This was the finished card - its for my aunt and i wanted a less is more simple and clean card for her birthday. Inside i stamped and embossed the message 'just for you'.

I can see everybody getting some form of embossing on all cards given here on in, lol. Now i just need more stamps!!!

Today was my first day back in work after being ill over the past few days, to cheer myself up i popped into paperchase and picked up the following bits and bobs:

There stickers are so cute! and i love the small envelopes thEy are going to look super in my aunts mini birthday book, likewise with the luggage label tags to sit in hidden pockets.

Hope to get the mini book finished this week to be my next post.

Well Hello Again!

I have been neglecting my blog a lot lately, i have been feeling a little blue and run down and haven't spent much time online. However i am feeling refreshed and hope to stay on top of things from here on in.

I have been working on a mini album for my Aunts Birthday as i decided i wasn't happy with the previous mini book. I will post when finished as still some bits and bobs to complete.

Today we went to my daughter's primary school for a car boot sale, it was a bit windy this morning but a turn out of three cars! yes THREE cars was not what i was expecting. Me being me i still found things to spend my money on - i do LOVE a good car boot sale!!!

My other half spotted(i walked right past) a HUGE collection of card making and scrap booking supplies in a job lot for £15. I didn't even barter as there was so much stuff, how could i leave it?. She quit the hobby as found it getting too expensive - i hear that!! i recently called to the range for the new creativity magazine - £45 later - hummmmm :)

The picture does not even do justice to the goodies.....

I spent ages going through it all included was:

A heating tool,
embossing powders,
large craft mat,
Guillotine,
over 30 separate outline sticker sheets,
Clear stickers,
Tags,
Blank cards and envelopes,
Scrapbook inserts,
Scented card inserts,
Paper in 12x12, 8x8, 6x6 and A4 selections,
Loads of ribbons and raffia.

The large tube at the back holds:

Craft knife and other tools,
Loads more ribbons,
Tones of beads, gems, brads, buttons...
Chipboard letters and flowers.

Gold star for my Boyfriend i am a happy crafter!!!

Now i must promise myself not to spend anymore on new stash and try a mantra of - I HAVE ENOUGH, I HAVE ENOUGH, I HAVE ENOUGH.

Hello Again

Its been so long since my last entry, my laptop broke thanks to my son pushing it off the unit! :( So after a long visit to the repair man i am now back online, i have so missed by blog hops bet i have missed loads of great makes!!

Hope you had a great Easter. We had a great time here, Tamsin enjoyed the egg hunt so much its going to become a tradition in this house. At the end of the hunt she found two baskets, one for her and and for little Morgan. (Next year they will both be old enough to understand.) They also had other non sweet related gifts.

The baskets were recycled from a present they had last year. The are filled with shredded paper, then have a choc egg each, some buttons, a cute little egg that zips open and holds a surprise chick and a set of nesting eggs that hold a little bunny (that were to cute to leave in paperchase!) The picture is not that clear i known. Morgan had more fun throwing the shredded paper all over the living room than anything!!

I have family down to stay and my Aunt has asked me to make her a new baby card but as we don't know if the pitter patter of little toes will belong to a boy or a girl it had to be neutral. I had to do a mad dash to the Range :) as don't have anything baby related in my stash.

This is my Fave fro the selection,

The tags were from the local huge pound shop opposite the range here. I had to remove some bits to make them neutral and swap some its around as they had pink accents. I love the washing line effect.

I used my new Forever Friends baby embellishments and papers to make a selection of other card for her to pick from but for the life of me cant get a decent picture.

Anyways im rambling so wont bore you any longer, off to blog hop.

My Daughter's creation

Today was my daughter's Mother's day concert. She was amazing, sang at the top of her voice, with all the actions. She was waving at me, her nan and her great nan in the audience like a nutter!! I am so proud of my little sweet pea.

At the end of the short but very very sweet concert, the teacher revealed the top secret mission that the children have been making all week. Tamsin made me a Mother's Day card.

Im not sure about the likeness,, lol but she did get my hair colour right!!

Here is Tamsins card, with mummy's face on the front, she has even tried to write her name inside - def one for the memory box but it will stay on display for a good while - I LOVE IT!!

If i don't post again in time, Happy Mother's day to all the yummy slummy mummy's, ENJOY

Easter

I have been playing with they Easter kit again, as the characters are so cute!! I decided to make my little cousin a Easter card to go with her present.

I decided to make an Easel card.

The papers either came from the Easter kit, or from the Me to You Kit i bought a few months ago. The Heart brads are from the first ever purchase i made when i started this hobby. I also have added some pink gems for extra sparkle.

Birthday Boy

My name is Shere and I have an addiction to DoCrafts Goody bags.

I LOVE THEM!!

I was going to resist and i did try with all my mite, i even ordered my Creativity mag online so i would have to look temptation in the face. But when i saw what was included i could not fight the urge any longer. The bag is full of bits and bods for male cards and i do struggle with masculine cards.

Included was the following decoupage kit, i love this little set sooooo cute. Alhtough the decoupage dosnt show that well in the photos.

So well in advance as my son's birthday (it is not until October) i have made this card ready as just wanted to play :)

Everything came from the goody bag apart from the wording on the front step, that came from the Forever Friends die cut greetings set the fell into my hands recently.

It is the second stair card i have made, the first ended up in the bin, but the proportions of these cute little boys fit prefect.

I am on top of birthdays for the year, in fact double over but my Christmas challenge is not working out to plan. So expect some advance Christmas makes next as i need to crack on so unlike last year i don't run out of inspiration, time!
